"The Equestrians" our 4-H group for Minnehaha County
We started this group "The Equestrians" in 1999 with a handful of parents and students has grown to 15 in our current group. Most of our students own their own horse, however we do lease some of our Arabians to children that do not have that privledge and it is just a wonderful program. We rode in the Loyality Day Parade a year ago in support of our troups and veterns and afterwards offered a Horse Carnival. Our kids did riding demos, had a petting zoo, face painting, games and horse and pony rides for the pubic to join in on. It was wonderful and what a great way to be a part of our community, show our patriotism and promote the horse all at the same time. 2008 Schedule: 4-H Horse Judging: TBA 4-H Saftey Training Clinic: TBA Riding Practice: Monday nights, 6:30pm at the stable beginning April 31th. We like to promote and help out anyone who has never had the opportunity to own and ride a horse and spark interest in our community. This year we will be having a trail ride to sponsor St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.. if you care to sponsor a child riding.. please contact us, we hope to raise a lot of money for those children with cancer.
